Why to never multi-class

Multi-classing, or taking a single character through multiple classes, can be fun, but it should never be done. The character classes are classes for a reason because they are classic. When you stick with one class you get a bonus every level (either a skill point or a hit point or another goodie) making multi-class characters fractionally worse. More importantly when you multi-class you lose the ability to do those things that classes are good at. A rogue fighter can not sneak very well compared to a rogue or take hits like a fighter can. When you try to be everything you end up being nothing.
